The Best Products for Self-care

Self-care is often skipped by moms, mainly because we are so busy all the time caring for our little ones.

We tend to forget about ourselves and not take care of ourselves, then try to pour from an empty cup.

Since becoming a mom in 2016, I have learned the hard way that self-care can’t just be skipped.

Whenever I did, my mental health and self-image went down, I almost never felt good about myself, which in turn affected my mood.

I just felt drained and empty all the time, just moving and going about my day on autopilot.

Over time, I became fed up with feeling depressed, and irritable the more tired and burned out i became.

I knew i had to change something because what i was doing, wasn’t working that great.

What is Self-care ?

Selfcare is any activity that we do deliberately to take care of our mental, emotional, and physical health.

As simple as the definition may be, many don’t realize self-care is more than going to the salon or taking a bath, it’s taking care of every aspect of you.

Body, mind, and emotion, are keys to our general mood and happiness.

It is very commonly overlooked, more so by moms.

Why do we skip self-care so much?

As a mother of three, all in different age groups, it can be difficult to squeeze that time in.

Sometimes guilt plays a part, we feel that we are taking away from our kids when we take time to focus on ourselves.

Even though we aren’t neglecting our kids in any way, most of us feel guilty over simple things like showering alone, bathing alone, and taking a car ride when our partner gets home from work.

It can be hard when the opportunity arises to take time for us.

We seem to be ingrained with the thoughts that all our energy should go into raising our babies for the world out there, and that it’s selfish to take time for yourself.

Many feel this way, no real explanation for it, right?

You just feel that way, I know, me too.

It’s common to feel that way when you are taking a moment for yourself when 98% of your energy goes into your family and home.

Those few minutes are detrimental to your health, physically, mentally, and, emotionally.
